Stretching
The value of stretching your artwork lies in the fact that your canvas is prevented from creasing excessively, thus protecting it.
Once wrapped and fixed around a frame, it is also much easier to hang for display purposes.
"We use hard wood so that the frame doesn't warp and end up ruining your piece," Daniel says.
"We stay far away from gluing the piece to the wood," he continues, "so that it can be reframed at a later stage without damaging the canvas.
"We make sure the surface we're working on when stretching a canvas is dirt free and dry to prevent dirtying and smudging the art," says Wang, one of Daniel's craftsmen.
Tip: Stretch interesting material over a frame and hang as an artpiece.
